Necessity is the mother of invention. We searched high and low for a method of back lighting our own lithophanes–with no luck. We finally designed our own version and found a manufacturer willing to work from our design. You will certainly find other LED light panels being used commercially, but none of them are designed for lighting lithophanes.

No. That’s one of the great things about LED lights. They are long life, use hardly any electricity, and they don’t get hot.

Our LED light panels last over 50,000 hours. That would be almost six years if left on twenty-four hours, seven days a week.
